The LSU Eunice Lady Bengal Basketball team released their upcoming 2009-2010 schedule on Wednesday.
The full 30 game slate has 12 games scheduled in Eunice, and 18 on the road.
The season begins on the road for the Lady Bengals in Cuthbert, Georgia, as the squad looks to complete the back-end of a home-and-home series with Andrew College. In the first game of the series during last season, the Lady Bengals defeated Andrew 91-44.
After returning home, LSU Eunice will play its only two home games in 2009 back-to-back. The first of two games will be played Nov. 6 vs. Allen County Community College. Allen lost an overtime thriller to LSU Eunice last season, which sparked a hot streak in which the Lady Bengals won six of the following eight games they played. The second game will be played against Butler Community College. Both schools are traveling to Louisiana from Kansas.
A long road trip ensues after the quick home showcase, where LSU Eunice will play seven games in eleven days. Participating in two tournaments in Oklahoma and Kansas, as well as stops in Missouri and Texas along the way help populate the densely packed journey.
As the calendar reaches it's final days, the Lady Bengals make their annual trip west, and this season they will return to Arizona. Among the opponents in the Grand Canyon State is Pima Community College, who had a resurgent year in 2008-09, and finished third in the NJCAA Tournament.
The year 2010 will be brought in with a home game against Murray State, in a potential rematch from earlier in the season during Murray's home tournament. Mississippi Gulf Coast will also take part in the LSU Eunice New Year's Classic.
Regular opponents Delgado Community College, Southern University - Shreveport, Mountain View College and Jacksonville help finish the back-end of the Lady Bengals schedule.
Games will be broadcast online and over the air by
KVPI. The station based in Ville Platte has broadcasted Lady Bengal Basketball games, as well as the rest of LSU Eunice athletics since 2006. The broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date by KVPI.
